BRIDGEPORT — Six persons will be honored during the annual Irish Legends Gala — Notre Dame and St. Mary’s version of a Hall of Fame — at Via Veneto in Bridgeport on March 28.
This year’s honorees are Sam Granett, Class of 1964; Billy Pulice, Class of 1971; Elizabeth Kniska Keyes, Class of 1986; honorary award winners Rick Loser and Joe Neely; and Distinguished Young Almuna Award winner Maryrose J. Burns, Class of 2011.
The event started in 2004, and honorees have been chosen every year since based on outstanding achievement and/or significant contribution to the schools and/or community. In 2012, the distinguished young alumnus award was added.
The social begins at 6 p.m., with the dinner at 7 p.m., to be followed by the presentation of awards. Sponsorship and reservation information can be found at notredamewv.org.
Granett grew up in the North View section of Clarksburg. He and his wife, Barbara, live in Austin, Texas. He is the son of the late William (BG) and Angeline Granett.
